i'm a little behind on the wii world,yet so fascinated. I'm learning to swing my racket on the tennis court on time before i miss. I still miss 4 out of 5 balls on my court. I wonder if these games enhance the players actual skills though? I highly doubt it since i've only played tennis once and let me tell you i only returned 1 out of 15 balls. Yes it was that bad.

On my way back from DC, i was lucky to catch an episode of Signé Chanel on board.
I cannot tell you how much i adore this brand, but i can tell you that after watching this episode, i excuse myself for my shallow love.
During my one year of fashion design two years ago, i was taught that research and development is the most important step of design. Through out this documentary the amount of research and work dedicated to production is emphasized, carving the cc's deeper into my heart. The timeless-ness of chanel is just so amusing, and to me its the secret of it's stardom.Bravo madame Coco.

The Introduction of the Chain Strap
The Chanel 2.55 bag was one of the most revolutionary of its time due to the introduction of a chain strap, enabling women to carry their purse on their arm instead of in their hand. After becoming tired of holding her own bags in her hands, and losing them, Chanel added thin chain straps “I know women — give them chains, women adore chains,” she said, in deciding the nature of the strap. Today the Chanel 2.55 purse is just as much an It bag as it always was. In 2005 , in celebration of the bag's 50th anniversary, Karl Lagerfeld (who took over creative leadership of the Chanel fashion house in 1983) revived the design exactly as Mademoiselle Chanel had made it, and the reissue proved even more popular than its original, according to Caz Moss, in her Female First article "Chanel 2.55 Handbag."

The most significant difference between what is known as the Reissue, compared to other recent versions of the 2.55, is that the true Reissue (made in 2005 to commemorate the anniversary) has the original Mademoiselle lock (and an all chain handle) rather than the interlocking two C’s of Chanel, which were introduced in the ‘80s. i flew back home a few days ago, suffering from my non-sleeping habits on board a super long flight. Even the cabin crew sympathized with me when i think from where they stood no eyes were open but mine.Still, i think that is the way to go when youre flying to other time zones.Luckily, i don't suffer from jetlag.
My O eight vacation was a dream come true in many ways. Our destinations were fulfilling to our expectations, and we made the most out of it.
I'm back home now, but the moments and memories lived-hopefully- will remain in the very little space i have left in my super goldfished memory.
I'm still unpacked, and all my life is in boxes and suitcases right now as we happen to be moving. So until i unpack and share my special items and cupcake eyes polaroid snaps, make sure you make the most out of your ramadan. It is afterall god's gift to us.Ramadan kareem.

While i was munching on my cheese & broccoli meal watching Jane Austen's persuasion outdoors on a chair on the little balcony, i decided i would blog afterwards.

I'm the laziest blogger there could be, leaving out the most exciting events of my summer to be blogged about someday. I don't think of myself as a writer, or a blogger of interesting things to discuss..mainly, i blog to remember. This is more like a log for me to go through sometimes ,and reminiscence.

As far as my summer goes,after our aquaintance with Peter Krause at the Beverly Hilton, I just kept falling deeper in love with los angeles.

My fav was Robertson Blvd where all the boutiques are, including the new chanel boutique where rare pieces are said to be displayed.Our night destination on several nights was The Grove, where fountains danced to frank sinatra music. Laguna beach had a summer-movie-scene feeling to it, even though i couldn't swim but just watching my brothers crash the waves and digging my feet into the hot n soft sand was delightful. The cherry on the top was a drive through Wisteria Lane, with the actual homes and cars as seen on the series were. I must say though its disappointing to see how all movies are just incredible graphics put together, and sets of 3 miles at most.
To sum it all up, if you like shopping,the beach,celebrity hunting,whimsical cars,exquisite restaurants,yoghurt and berries sprinkled with granola in sweet packaging,etc. you will heart l.a just as much as i did.

From there we flew to las vegas, the land of casinos. As bad as it may sound, vegas is not only for gamblers. I mean, sure they make an extreme effort to tempt every single visitor to pitch in by making the casino the centre of all hotels, making it impossible to get to anywhere in the hotel sans passing through all the clicking and chips stacking, you can get your way around it for a few days. My highlite however was the spectacular performance of The phantom of the opera. It was just incredibly well done, and to my surprise the opera singing was not at all irritating at the performance. Even my brother -who is really not fond of the theater,fyi- had a good time. Though i must say, i think vegas was meant for americans who decide not to leave their country. The venetian is where we stayed, a taste of italy very well done. With gondola rides and performers around the corners with hand made icecream, it totally puts you in a very italian mood. I even managed to get my hands on a beautiful carnivale-style mask that i only saw once before in the actual Venice, and then hated myself for not getting one.
Just on the other side of the street is a clone of the eiffel tower, and a few blocks later a statue of liberty. I tell you, many cities in one. After all, where else would you find a barneys newyork store along side a gondola boat with a striped costume driver singing an italian tune but vegas. Alas, if you know yourself to be a fast breaker to the temptations around you, It is quite the sin-city.

Wow. I should be payed by the ministry of tourism after all that. That is by far the longest time i have ever spoken to myself.

Right now I am in whats starting to feel like a second home, Virginia. Munching on George town cupcakes ,watching movies and shopping for equine couture is all i feel like doing until i get to bahrain. I miss that little kingdom oh so terribly.Might i suggest BBC's Persuasion by Jane Austen. Makes me want to walk into her mind and find out how she writes all these outstanding stories.

In the end, munch on your closest divine cupcakes whilst i munch on mine.

dear minnie mouse,
i left your home yesterday after spending the most miraculous 5 days ever. I had the most amazing experiences which i think everyone should encounter. From the most spectacular performances to the magical mickey shaped cookies in disney, and shows of very smart connection between people and shamu's followed by dining with the sharks at seaworld--i tell you minnie, your home is a lot of fun. I must say though, you are very devoted to mickey judging by the to-do list at your place.I admire your love to him despite the squeaky voice.

I'm now at our second destination, Beverly hills 90210. I just arrived here today morning and i am loving it already. I can tell this is a place i'll want to return to as soon as i'm gone. The weather is very pleasant, and i'm staying at the same neighbourhood the movie pretty woman was filmed in~circa 1990.

How does one get away from life's imperfections ? Last night before i went to sleep i thought of all the imperfect things in my life and others. It was a long chain of thoughts scattered over lots&lots of people.

How attached to life am I ? I wish there was some kind of standard to compare myself to. I love my family, i love purses, i love shoes,i love i love i love,,but deep down i want to remind myself how irrelevant all these things are. I want to have it in my heart that wether or not all these things are available to me, I will be a better person.
I want to wake up one day being satisfied enough with the things i have done in life, knowing i tried my best.I know I don't right now.
well, thats me trying to put my tres random thoughts in words.

I just finished packing my bags for our tour starting tommorow morning. I am so excited about split-caming, & i'll try to make sure i dont burn out the rolls this time.

a cat's tale

i landed in Washington DC a few days ago, but had to figure out some adapter issues at radio shack until i got my hands on the right outlet. It's very pleasant and peaceful here, but im still not used to the new-comer in our world,aka muffy my sisters cat. I've seen his pictures before and thought he was scary, but when i saw him face to face i must admit he has the cutest ugly face ever. He looks like hes always pushing his nose to the inside, with the furriest face. I must say i never know what 'curiosity killed the cat' was about, now however, i really know. I keep my distance from him very carefully, and when i go to sleep i make sure i close the door to not encounter any accidents that involve me screaming and landing off the bed on the floor(has happened, only on a chair). So every morning when i wake up, he makes the most heartbreaking sounds at the door until i let him in, of course i only do that when im done with my sleep.
right now, im the only one awake and so he sticks around me and snoops on everything i do lol. I wish he could talk or smile, communicating would be much easier.
That said, he reallllyy reminds me of lucifer from cinderella,, only a million times less evil.I think its the way he walks.

i'm off to the container store now, home of organizing wonders.I heart that store to bits.

I need to sleep! I've been up since yesterday morning and haven't slept since. I can't wait to get on board the fourteen hour flight ajead of me to rest,,although I know I won't fall asleep. I have what I like to call plane-sleep-phobia. The most I can take is a fifteen to twenty mind nap,and yes I've tried the sleeping mist. Right now I am very tempted to ffind the spa in this airport.

finally,finally. i'm not quite sure what the weather is all about lately, dust and more dust. Still,it is summer!

So how do you like packing your stuff ? Pour moi, packing a few days in advance is ideal. Sometimes, if i've got lots of time on my hands i would write down a list of the things i need not forget. Finally, although im not the best 'packer' there is, i like doing it on my own to know where everything is. But the best packing of all is that done at the end of a vacation, a suitcase filled with new goodies.
a few tips from independant traveler :
+ Rolling your clothes: Rolling works well with pants, skirts and sports shirts. Lay the item face down, fold back the sleeves and then roll from the bottom up.

+ Fold Clothes Together: Take two or more garments, for example trousers, and lay half of one pair on top of the other. Fold the one on the bottom over the pair on the top. Then take the other and fold it on the top. This gives each pair some cushion where you've folded it so it's less likely to crease or wrinkle in the folds.

finally, a tip from me: always pack shampoos,perfumes,liquids in 2 plastic bags to avoid unnecessary explosions.

Another thing i do before i leave is purchase a few summer items. This year i didn't have the time to do alot of pre-vacay shopping. I just know these are going to be my summer sandals.

finally,before i forget~ last night was Noon by Noor's fashion show. Everything was tres chic and luvly. from the STC opening to the glow-in-the-dark iced drinks. a great beginning to the designer's line!

last night i also found hundreds of hair-styling tutorials on youtube, so when you've got nothing better to do bring out all your bobby-pins and experiment!
this one was my favorite, minus the haircolor and leaves..i think its very pretty.<3

dear blog, i'm sorry for being such an awful owner. Ive seriously had no extra time to do anything lately. Things will get better between us once im done with this semester, c'est promise!
I have been super-loaded with assignments and a very fulltime schedule which leaves me too lazy to do anything every night. Forgive me nyxxie for the late response, here it goes :

+ I can never mess my bed up during the day.When i take short afternoon naps on my bed i'd cover up with a throw or something but never pull the quilt out of order. I hate messy beds. Obsessive Compulsive ? maybe.

+ When sitting in the passenger seat with someone driving, i count light poles on the street,or bushes.

+ I still love tom&jerry. Sometimes when i have nothing better to do i look them up on youtube and watch them.

+ I love eating ice.

+ When im really embarassed or being scowled at, i must smile. I've had this problem since i was in the third grade. The principle once called me to her office for getting an F in math. She kept asking me why I was careless, and all i could do was smile until she let me go. I didn't say one word.

+ I cant walk straight.seriously. Whenever im walking by someone they end up getting closer and closer to the walls beside them, and end up switching sides with me. I have balance problems, thus i can't even ride a bicycle. Thank god ive learned to balance myself on a horse.

a while ago i accidentally found a tv program that i fell in love with. Dress my nest , by Thom Filicia. The designer basically take any outfit picked by the candidate and designs a room according to that outfit. Although i hate the attitude, his work is pretty impressive.

meanwhile,i've been trying to enhance my skills with a software im a newbie to. HomeDesigner by Better Homes.I'm gonna need sometime to master it, but i can tell i'll have a lot of fun experimenting with it. It's also great for visualizing my ideas sometimes.

When the ipod was first invented,I was a big fan. From the first launch to the nano and minis they were all irresistable to me. However I always thought the concept could be further developed by it's brilliant master minds. The iphone was great, but not for me. Something like a super compact handtop. And my imagination never failed me. The iPod touch is JUST what I needed. Blogging when your attempts of falling asleep failed was never so enjoyable before this great invention. Thank you Steve.

Have i ever mentioned how much i love movies with old sets? A lot.My favourite by far is Marie Antoinette for eye candy, and Emma for movie content.
This movie is coming soon, I'm looking forward to watching it.I hear the scene sets are very pretty.Long live vintage.

while i waited for jeoffrey at Lily to make the arrangements for me, i got the sudden urge to start a flower shop. I've always loved watching the florists nip the stems before arranging the roses & cutting through the water filled blocks. The super cold room where all the flowers are has a distinct smell to it that makes me happy somehow. Never mind me and my business ideas though, i do go too far sometimes.

its been a while since i watched a movie that i really loved. This one was just amazing. It's very sad, but no one ever sees the world through the eye of the disabled. Watching it just made me thank God for all the things we take foregranted. Highly, highly recommended.
The french was also a treat to my ears. I just love that language.

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly is an four-time Academy Award nominated 2007 film directed by painter-director Julian Schnabel and written by Ronald Harwood. It is based on the French memoir Le Scaphandre et le Papillon by Jean-Dominique Bauby.

The film describes Bauby's life after suffering a massive stroke at the age of 43, which left him with a condition known as locked-in syndrome. The condition paralyzed him; his only remaining means of communication was the blinking of his left eyelid. The film premiered in competition at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival on May 22, where Schnabel won, two weeks later, the Award for Best Director. Schnabel also won Best Director at the 65th Golden Globe Awards, where the film won Best Foreign Language Film.

although the heat is killing me every morning, its good to have the summer sunshine back. I really miss the days when i had nothing to do every weekend but pack my swimsuit and go to my granny's for a dip in the pool. Really felt like summer back then.
I've filled my time up this quarter with 5 courses, quite hectic one it'll be. On the sunny side though i've got thursday off, scheduled my riding classes on that day.

The addition to my hat collection is i think the most prettyful thing ever. will post pics of it later.Right now,i am wishing for a spin on the chanel merry go round. Sil vous plait karl, make one for our backyard.I'd love to have this as my view.

it snowed today morning,and the sight was beautiful. I'm a snow virgin, never seen snow before.I love the frosty trees and white grass effect. I don't know about the cold weather though,could be painful to be out right now.
London is lovely at this time of the year, especially with the people you enjoy your time with most.
We went to a tack store that day and purchased some riding gear that was most needed.
The guy at the store recommended a visit to polistas in burlington arcade, something we must do before leaving.

after a break of tranquility in abudhabi, were here for a break of shopping. The weather here is very satisfying. Not so cold,but cold enough to dress in overcoats and shawls. Today is our second day here, we spent it strolling on sloane and harrods.
I have discovered a discreet love for color I haven't known about before. I suddenly have the urge to purchase things with splashes of color for some reason. I wasn't ever like that, but mum always said i would change one day.
Grey is a color i always go for,according to the color me calm theory ;

endurance adventures

Saturday was the day. The endurance race we had waited for. We left home at 4:30 am to get there before the 1600 km race began. Stopped at 24 for snacks,and got there at 5 am. It was amazing seeing all those people awake at that time waiting for the racers to begin. It was a big race this time, with lots of different competitors. I drove for 5 minutes until i got to a corner and sunk into the sand x_x.Some patrol soldiers came and pulled us out , and then i was extremely careful not to sink in again. Its incredible how people are passionate about horses. I wasn't ever interested in a particular sport, but a horse race i can watch forever. Theres just some peaceful atmosphere they create. If i had a private jet , i'd pack my bags and leave to a new destination every weekend.This weekend, i would like to go to Los Angeles. Although i havent been there, Rodeo Drive has always sounded good to me.

On the 14th of march however, i'd be in NYC. Why? For the Sole Desire exhibition held at the FIT museum, Seventh Avenue at 27 Street. I would so love to attend a shoe exhibit, let alone chris louboutin's show. These flower mary-janes are too sweet.

Later on, I would stop in Paris. Live the parisian atmosphere in rue saint honore, champs elysees, & laduree. Also, i would practice my very,very poor french skills. Je parle francais maintenant, tres peu.Probably the only thing i would say.

Bon,alors back to reality.The only exhibition i can visit is the Masks Exhibition held at the national museum of Bahrain.

yesterday was a beautiful day for riding, the weather was amazing. After we finished the instructor asked me if i was interested in jumping. I cant say i'm not going there as im quite excited about it, but im a little worried since i've seen horrifying videos on youtube of people shooting out of their saddles while jumping.
It is fascinating to watch people jump though, it has some kind of harmony going on between the horse and rider in that few seconds they soar in.

im currently loving whites,greys,and shocks of electric color. bright purple is suddenly appealing to me. But my favorite palette of all times is that of marie antoinette's. I just love everything about that movie, the dresses, the shoes, the food & everything else.
I'm currently searching for furniture to decorate my new nest with, which is why im deciding on certain color palettes. I read somewhere the best way to pick a theme is pick an art piece with appealing colors to work with.

style wise, i luv boudoirish/paris-rococo style combinations.

finally, picking objects with fun colors is the best way to accessorize and embellish. Macaroons,cakes, laces, and textures are great sources of inspiration.

i finally managed to make time to quickly give this place a much needed makeover. I had so many things in mind to write about but never really got the time.

The last weeks were full of surprises for me. First a last minute trip to makkah that was absolutely incredible. Its been a while since ive been to makkah in a time other than ramadhan. It was so peaceful and empty at all times which was quite surprising.

A few days later, my cousins and i attended an endurance race for the first time ever. We left home at 6 am and got there at around 7:30 when the 160 km race began shortly afterwards. It was amazing following those horses all around until the final round, but made me feel really sorry for the disqualified horses after vet checks. I'm sure the winners felt extreme victory after the effort they put into this.I learned afterwards that endurance weakens horses a lot, and could result in death of some horses. I wouldn't be comfortable doing that to them, although the race was really a beautiful experience.
I also finished my midterms, thats when i decided to work on fixing up this place.
as for now, i must put myself to sleep. a bientot.

I am so loving the weather this year. Although im quite confused as to why our winter has suddenly become so cold, I cant say im not enjoying it. I finally have a chance to wear all the jackets i've just wondered when or where I would wear , hoping i'd have a winter vacation somewhere. Last week was a busy one for me, with my intensive intersession course that i finally finished yesterday and lots of occassions to prepare for. I had loads of fun though, spent with cousins and friends mostly playing tricks(or trex?), a game i recently learned.
I've liked other card games before, but this one is just really fascinating it makes one want to go on and on until you get your chance to win. It's quite annoying sometimes cuz the chances of winning with bad cards are reaaaallly slim, and you'd just get stuck losing points and face.
Today i start my winter classes, with a crammed schedule on sundays tuesdays and thursdays i've got mondays and wednesdays off along side the weekends <3.The best thing i've registered for this time is my french class, i have wanted to learn french for so long i finally get the chance to.I'm also getting back on track with my riding classes tommorow, i'm quite worried about how cold it gets down there especially while riding.~

Have you ever lived moments you know you'll never forget ? I usually don't cherish the times i live until theyre over. Sometimes though, I just know in my heart ill always cherish those days. In the past weeks, my cousins and i have been experimenting some new things we haven't done in quite a while.
As a child i accompanied my father to the farm every friday. We fed the sheep, picked some vegetables and dug through the store room of old boxes. I think it was my best day of the week as i remember looking forward to it so much. Last week, my cousins and I made a trip to the farm after so many years. I think i had just as much fun, except there wasn't any sheep feeding. We played cards , walked around in the beautiful weather, had our dinner and left. I think you never forget the things you grow up liking, theres just a special place for things like that.
Later that week, we had a trip to the Banyan Tree where I had the best days of my life. I know i've already spoken about how much i luv that place, but I can safely say the days were just magical. We did nothing but chatter, play cards, warm up in the jacuzzi during the so cold weather, and take fantastic pictures. Those are the days I know i'll never forget.
As far as my riding classes go, yesterday some new guy joined our group and the instructor decided to switch my horse with some new one i've never tried before. The stallion was really huge i had trouble keeping my balance on him. To make matters worse she asked me to canter! I seriously believed it was the day i'll know how it feels like to fall off a horse. I kept losing the stirrups, flopping to the side and almost falling off while he shooted like crazy. When it was finally over, she said she made me ride this horse because she trusted I'd keep my balance. I can only say it was a uniQue experience for me, nonetheless an extremely frightening one.

Its the most wonderful time of the year ? Not because of christmas, but because its breaktime with beautiful weather. My sisters are finally coming back after a really long time, and im really hyped up about it! I've registered for an intersession session though,which will take a lot of my time.On the bright side i learned i wouldn't have to stop my riding lessons for holidays <3.
I recently watched breakfast at tiffanys, and remembered how glamorous this movie is. I also learned it recently won the award of the most stylish movie, and i cant agree more. Audrey's style simplicity is so stunning in my opinion.

1. vintage shades are my new obsession. Risky business shades at U.O + my super sized shades~ dramatically perfect.

2. i have always had a thing for hats. especially those intricate lacey/rosey vintage ones. I started my collection in italy last summer with a beige straw hat. This summer i got an odd open headed bow hat from a stall in Quincy market, Boston. I need one of those vintage-y pretty ones to compliment my collection.

i've been quite busy balancing my classes,midterms,and riding sessions.i can say i'm now officially obsessed with riding. I wait for the days my classes are scheduled, and when im there i just don't want to leave. When im home im reading tips and watching videos, or shopping for riding gear.
I've also been practicing my long forgotten photoshop skils, on a beaaautiful picture + loving the strawberry red polish i've chosen to paint me toes with!

Last night i was invited to the opening of a new store in A'ali mall,Plumberry. The store has a very chic layout with designers all the way from the states.Housing brands like velvet,Twelvth street by Cynthia vincentand lots more the store has a unique collection of clothing.
Later, i got home and got changed for my highly anticipated reservation at the Tamarind of Banyan Tree. The place is just so dreamily beautiful,, aside from the fact that its so quite and calm, the architecture and interior is so beautiful, it makes any other hotel i've ever visited tacky. The drive there took almost an hour which is quite a lot for beloved bahrain, where the longest trip around would cover at most 20 mins- nothing to be ashamed of in my opinion as it makes life a lot easier.<3
So after we had our dinner, we were taken on a tour through the private villas where i was struck by the beauty of the place i just wanted to stay there foreverr. I would sooo love to live in a place that looks like that, where inspiration comes by just looking around. I suggest a tour around for anyone who can make it there. A real retreat.&)

monday ; visited Maya chocolate bar for the second time for a divine candle heated chocolate fondue with marshies and cake to dip and indulge.

tuesday ; riding with Handsome for the first time.With a beautiful covered in white complexion, he defines the word Handsome. I had a hard time coping with his playful mood,he refused to trot and stopped whenever he wanted to. Still, hes my favorite. I hoped my instructor would make him my permanent ride.

wednesday ; shopping for jodhpurs.After an hour of looking around i finally set for a
sarm hippique sand color one.I found it easiest to move around in,also suited mon helmet.
today; riding again with the tres handsome,handsome.He was a lot better today and seemed to listen to what i asked him to do.,i have to keep reminding myself to look ahead though, as i keep looking down at his irresistable beauty and he ends up finding his way on his own. The weather was reallly delightful today as wel, the breeze was so soothing~ a beautiful day for riding.

After Ramadhan

Ramadhan was great this year. It was special in a different way, and thankfully i had nothing to do all month long since i had an extended summer holiday! I was fortunate to get a Umra alhamdulla. If i haven't mentioned it already, my time in Makkah during ramadhan is really my best time of the year. The peaceful aura surrounding that place is just beyond description, one would have to live the moment in order to understand its bliss and beauty.
After ramadhan, I hope to keep up with what I have promised myself i'd do.. to me , ramadhan is a chance for everyone to find themselves every year, and probably fill in some gaps in their life. Its hope returned to every individual in a different way.
I believe knowledge is the key to gaining religious wisdom and understanding. Knowing what everything is really about makes practicing a lot more enjoyable. I promised myself i'd work on educating myself in that sense, hopefully i'll live up to my promise.~

After Eid, I got back on track with my uni classes and my horseriding lessons. Today was trotting for quite a long time with Milan.I had some trouble with the stirrups flopping in and out during the trot, I wonder if that will ever stop happening.He was a good boy , although i left the stable extremely exhausted and still am. &)
As for now, I'd better get my rest..

yes,finally im home. After three months away, my room back home feels like the safest haven ever. They say you dont know how much you value something until you lose it, and that is especially true with servants at home. Being away for so long makes me value the lifestyle i live back home. Although i love organizing my things on my own, its always a gazillion times better to come back home to a nice and neat room where everything is just where you want it to be,spick and span with fresh linen and no fear of someone else's germs remaining on the pillowcases and sheets.
The last four days in Virginia were miraculous. We went up to a resort in the South on a mountain with such beautiful scenery and lots of activities that i've always longed to do. I finally got to play golf,something i have always wanted to do. It is as i've imagined a very nice activity, i love the concentration method a player has to adapt to make a perfect swing. Also after hitting the ball correctly, the ball just flies until it lands somewhere.Its a very soothing game just as i'd imagined.
I also got to go horseback riding on a trail ride through some forests, it was just so magical. After putting down my height and weight, they chose Flee for me. She was such a good girl and did exactly what the reins told her to.
During the trail ride we went through some pathways and up hills, deers even passed by while we were on our way back.
It was just so miraculous, a vacation i will never forget.So after a fourteen hour flight home, i had just a very little sleep and had to wake up to prepare for a wedding i had to attend. I'm now suffering from the worst case of jetlag everr. Thankfully ive alot of time to prepare for ramadhan and repair my ruined system +_+

Newyork was simply amaaazing.
Yes i was expecting it to be but not to this extent. It could be the extraordinary shopping that amused me but still,it was just a different place. I finally know what it feels like to be walking the streets of Manhattan or digging through boutiques in Soho. I wish i had a little more time to attend some broadway theatres or take a sex and the city tour around manhattan, but the time i had was too valuable to be wasted not shopping.
I am now back in washington DC. I don't think i have ever left home for so long, and i am reaaaalllllyy missing it.

dear diary,
if you knew me well, you'd know how much i luv the sea. Theres just something in me that is somehow attached to anything that involves the sea. It could be in my genes, as both my grandfathers had an interest in fishing.
Last week, i went fishing. To be honest i worried i wouldn't catch anything, i'm not exactly the pro fisher,, ive only been fishing once and it was sheer luck that i caught a fish that time. Years ago when my grandfather took his fishing trips every weekend i'd go along sometimes. I remember sitting next to my grandfather for hours waiting for him to pull something out of the water, but nothing came. I began to think he was catching water, and i asked him if he was. He still laughs at me whenever he remembers it.
Never the less, when i went fishing this time i was lucky. I caught four fish. I must say though i wish there was a less painful way for a fish to die then being hooked by the mouth to an anchor.I dont know if it was beginners luck ,or if im by nature talented. LOL
I had a very good time, and a very close encounter with a frightening hungry seal.

Back on land, ive been spending some time shopping and watching movies n tv series with my sister.
Yesterday, at The dolls hospital store i got the most adorable doll sized tea lounge ever. I was going crazy surrounded by all those miniature adorable little bedrooms shoes and cakes. I had to tolerate myself and narrow it down to a single collection since i am no owner of a doll house.
I'm leaving dublin tommorow, to continue on my summer journey. Will blog from my next destinations.

its quite funny how i postpone my updates until i have enough words and photos to add to one post, but once theyre collected i can't seem to find the right time to do so.
dear diary, hello from dublin. Now theres a sentence i never thought i would say.
Im here to visit my sister and keep her company for a while since i haven't seen her in quite a long time. The country is nice and green, the weather is very pleasant. I'd come here if i ever work and then decide to retire to retreat and find my peace of mind.
I also came across one of my most honorable discoveries. Brunch icecream. Now it may not sound special to anyone else, but to me it is. Years ago, when i was about 10 years old, i had an addiction to this icecream which we only found in a little cold store a few minutes from where i lived. For some odd reason, the icecream was discontinued. I never saw rockyroad ever since.
After one day in dublin, i found Brunch in tesco, which is extremely close to rockyroad. I now have two bars of brunch daily.
Too bad i can't pack boxes of icecream.
Besides brunch, we've been taking long roadtrips to some beautiful areas around dublin. The greenery makes me want to play golf,,i always wanted to but seeing a real live green course makes it much more desirable.So maybe i will one day.
Ive still got to stay here for a while before i continue on my summer vacation, i should try and post more often.

well,it most certainly has been so long. I have been postponing the update for some day where i've got lots of free time, it took some time for that day to come. I am now anticipating my summer holiday, i am pretty excited about it.
I've been quite busy lately balancing tasks. I spent a beautiful weekend in dubai two weeks ago with my favorite people, i then came back and arranged a bridal shower for a dear cousin of mine. I have always fantasized about being a party planner one day, that was a little preview of what it would be like.
My cousin and i organized it together, with a tropical/flowery like theme. Everything went well thankfully, and the party was a big pass.The party favors were customized and looked really pretty. I guess i-with some help-could become a party planner some day.

I also overcame my worst fear this semester,presentations. I have now nothing to worry about besides my final exams, which doesn't really worry me much. I will now get back to my current favorite thing to do, watch f.r.i.e.n.d.s.

dear diary,

do you ever postpone everything to the last minute , and when that last minute comes youre just too bored to even think about the things you had to do ? cuz thats what i do.
Its 1:52 am , i finished typing up the answers for my MIS midterm tommorow, printed them out, and i'm now exhausted. I also have to type up a summary about an extremely nonsense movie we watched in class about some african leader.
Instead, I turn to my number one online hangout, the purse forum.
I have been to many forums before, but this one i don't think i would ever stop visiting. Its possibly my infatuation with handbags that drags me to it everyday, but i am seriously addicted to it. I am now browsing through pictures of celebrities with chanel handbags. This is a treat to myself after hours of reading things i barely understand.
If i could rob one store in the whole world, i would rob chanel. I dont know what it is about those little quilted purses that makes my heart beat faster. I have a goal of developing a vast collection of chanels.
I hope my dream comes true one day.
As for now, i must go back to studying the characteristics of a computer processor.

im sorry for the long no-post period, i typed a whole thing up that day and my safari browser decided to shut down for some odd reason.I was too annoyed to come back and type it up again.

are you involved in politics ?
i never was.until now,i have to be. because its a requirement,i had to take this political science class in which we discuss politics.Me,being the person i always was and always will be,i never get the courage to speak up my opinion..even if i know for a fact i can say something of importance to the discussion,i would never speak up.Just thinking of speaking makes my heart pound loudly. I wonder if that would ever change.Would i ever overcome the horror of speaking in public ? I sincerely hope i do.I have a problem of some sort,when i start speaking i fidget and get all nervous.
that being mentioned,i have always been bad with numbers,always.I'm now taking my first accounting class.Believe it or not,i slightly enjoy the class.Its not so bad and the math is not the type that i dont understand,it makes full sense to me.

today i need to go shopping for dresses, i've got lotsa weddings and engagement parties coming up.im currently aboard the frilly/flowy wave.later,A and i are going to the movies for Music and Lyrics.It should be a fun n light movie.

italian memoirs

dear diary,

i haven't been upto much lately,so i chose not to bore you with meaningless entries.
Today i remembered the blast i had during my summer holiday in italy.This will be my late but important to me entry.
i always heard italy was magical.I had a certain image of it in my mind, lots of bricky roads with beautiful shopping alleys and side cafes. I didnt expect it to be exactly what i had in mind;to my surprise,it was a lot better. Milan was enchanting..lots of beautiful restaurants, magnificent shopping, and delicious icecream.

Venice was the definition of magical.Have you ever been to a city without cars?not a single car. we arrived looking for a taxi to the hotel.Instead we got into a boat carrying our luggage and moved through the beautiful passages until we got to the hotel.For a small city like venice,i must say the shopping was amazing.Theres a boutique of almost anything that can come on one's mind.Theres a waterside market with lots of carnivale venezian masks and souvenirs. The gondola's driven by striped shirt singing men are a work of art.One of them showed me a building and claimed casanova actually lived there. Its one place i will never forget,and would love to visit once again.

Florence was our third destination.I personally enjoyed my time in Florence a lot more than Milan.Although they are both so beautiful,florence has a special charm to it. Its so beautiful and calm, with amazing italian shopping.There's also a cafe ill never forget,Gilli;the most delicious strawberry tarts i've ever had.I picked up the sweetest straw hat with a bow as a souvenir from firenze.
I think i can say my trip to italy was the best vacation i ever had.

so,back to the norm,the weather is really odd these days.Its cloudy during daytime,followed by constant lightning and rainy nights.Yesterday the sky was literally showering.Its funny,raining at this time of the year.Major global warming alert.

dear journal,
i came back a few days ago,but was too busy to turn my pc on.
I had fun in dubai, spent some quality time with mum since it was only us most of the time. We literally did nothing but shop..which isnt a problem for me.If i had the choice, i would really travel around the world only to shop.However,i did abuse my feet very badly. I dont know why, whenever i say my shoes are comfortable, they start showing another side to them.The terrible truth is,there is not one single pair of fancy&comfy shoes in the whole wide world. I had to walk around carrying a box of latex free bandages for every scab i got on my poor feet. I even searched for comfy sandals,but they were too hideous to even consider.
so besides the shopping, on the last night we went to madinat jumeirah.Out of a lot of places in dubai, that is one place i really enjoy going to.I love the water side and all the traditional stuff.It's such a beautiful place.

Everything was arranged well, except a poor girl slipped into the water, which was most expected.-you must know what monsoon looks like to understand that-.
Anyway, so the next day i was scheduled to travel to dubai,and here i am today.
It's raining outside, the weather seems foggy and cloudy.
Now all i want to do is shop till i completely drop.That is the main reason i enjoy coming to dubai.
I also heard there's a krispy kreme somewhere around <3.

lately ive been stuck on a show that i am in luv with; prison break. It is too good it glues me to it , and once i start i cannot stop.Which is bad right now because i should be studying for my economics final thats on sunday x_x my first exam is tommorow, its not so bad thankfully i studied a little bit in advance and i know the material well.
well back to my topic, i think Paul Scheuring - the creator of the show - is a genius. It is so well done, and the events are so unexpected.I'm usually good with expecting what comes next, but this show has proved me wrong a few times already.
Throughout the episodes my heart beats so hard its like i'm part of it or something, haha which beats me because im not that type of person.

They say golf is the greatest game because the only person you get to blame is yourself.
How easy is it to blame others, and how difficult is it to blame ourselves?

I think blaming ourselves is one of the most challenging tasks to train our brains to get used to. Most people teach themselves to blame others for anything wrong that goes on in their lives. Because ofcourse, that would be the easiest way out.
The hardest blame is the one thrown on to yourself, because you would have no one to hate but yourself.
On the other hand, I believe learning to be responsible for anything wrong that goes on in one's life is a lesson that everyone must learn..although, a lot of times there are actually others included, but learning to carry the burden yourself would greaten the chances of forgiving, and perhaps living on with a lesson learned.

Yesterday my cousins and I made the right choice by going to the movies for the pursuit of happiness,starring Will Smith.
Its been long since i really enjoyed a movie, yesterday's was a great pass. I luv how real it felt all along, especially knowing its a true story. Will did a great job , and so did his lil boy. I missed seeing the real Chris Gardner on Oprah though, which is a pity.

Today, a lazy day so far. I must get to finishing my room quick, its really getting on my nerves.ive literally been to every furniture store around searching for the perfect match for my room. ive got to finish this atleast before finals.
ive also thought of practicing on my photoshop skills before i completely lose them, i made a mini illustration of one of my favorite purses ever, the classique chanel.Not so perfect, but i really did this in half an hour so i applaud myself. &)

the tee story

i woke up an hour before my physics class today morning, but i chose to go back to sleep. I did my econ midterm yesterday, and it didnt go so well. x_x anyway, i got out of bed and got a sudden urge to organize my daily clothes closet. As i went through a couple of my tees, i remembered how some of them actually have stories behind them.

01. a vintage wannabe minnie mouse

about 5 years back, my family and i went on a summer vacation to paris. As most families would, we managed to get to euro disney. We walked into a disney store with lots of disney goodies, and this t-shirt was among them. Me being myself, i couldnt get myself to resist buying anything, even though i didnt like it all that much. So i pulled it off the t-shirt rack and purchased it.Later on, my sister mentioned this would turn into a vintage tee a few years from now. Today, the paint on the t-shirt looked cracked and faded. So thats how it got to be 'vintage wannabe tee'.

02. singaporean flamingo beauty

not much of a story for this one, i found it in a souvenir store at the jurong bird park in singapore, about 4 years ago.
The park had a lovely flock of flamingos, i guess the tee is a reminder of that. although the green is horrible x_x

03. asmah's surprise bday party

giveaways at my luvly cousins surprise bday party, with lots of hellokitty goodies. A huge hellokitty faced pinata (i felt bad for the kitty being hit so hard), pink drinks, cupcakes and heart shaped mini cheesecakes. So this tee is a reminder of that day. <3

04. ted baker glitz

and finally,thats my fav tee of the day.lol

i've been taking cooking classes the past few weeks at the Cookery Studio with Janet. I made english scones on the first class , a delicious chicken pasta on the second , chocolate caramel shortbread on the third , and today , faiiiiryyyy cakes the Prince Charles way. <3
I must say i was so pleased i finally learned how to bake a cake without using powder in a box. X)

you tube is my latest online hangout.Although i'm a tad late, i spend hours watching my fav. that 70's show.I've also been searching up some "classics", such as home alone. It's one movie i will never get tired of watching , i guess it brings back some good memories.* Also my dream of strolling the streets of NY city one day <3.

lomo days

I've been busy with my lomos these past few days.I finally got my rolls scanned and uploaded to my lomohome , theyve been lounging around for weeks.Customizing my holga was a major difficulty since for some reason she likes her batteries installed in a very odd way.
Thankfully,i got it right by taping it down with my miracle double sided tape. I am now re-mixing my fisheye pix with whatever comes on the holga, and still snapping. the results should be amusing!
today, i intend to bake some cupcakes and decorate them.8) yes i was inspired by the millions of cupcake luvers on the internet. I also want to lomo-shoot them..
I will post pix of the preperations once im done.

addictions

Before i came across the The purse forum i thought i had a crazy addiction to purses. Now however, i think my addiction is completely normal. It's funny how different people find their own obsessions.
I guess no one understands real obsession until they fall for one.

I came across a cupcake blog for cupcake obsessions today , which has archives of the prettiest cupcakes.
All cupcakes,All the time. I must say i wasnt much of a cupcake person, i got a sudden urge of baking cupcakes after finding all those fancy fairy cakes.

annnd after a long wait,i finally got to watch the devil wears prada, and i highly recommend it to all fashion-interested people like moi [especially Hermes lovers x_x].I must say though,its not just the fashion element that i luved, i also found it realistic in some way.Despite the toooo happy ending.

And this is my first post! :)
